Overview

Epsteindle is an educational tool designed to visualize connections within public datasets. We are committed to maintaining a minimal data footprint while providing a competitive gameplay experience.

Data Collection

Anonymous IDs

We use Firebase Auth to assign an anonymous identifier to your browser. This allows you to join lobbies and track your performance without creating a formal account.

Leaderboards

When you submit a score, we store your chosen display name, the score value, and the timestamp. This data is associated with the lobby ID used.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to power our infrastructure and support the project:

  • Google FirebasePowers our real-time database, authentication, and hosting. Google may collect diagnostic data and IP addresses as part of these service operations.
  • Google AdSenseDisplays advertisements to help fund the development and hosting costs. AdSense uses cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history.

Cookies & Storage

We utilize Local Storage to remember your personal best streak on your current device. We do not use this for cross-site tracking. Our advertising partners may use cookies for personalized advertising purposes.
